You can have the best juicer in the world, but if you don’t have one of the best easy to clean juicer options then the chances are that it is going to be awkward to use, and you could spend unnecessary hours having to clean up after use. If your juicer isn’t easy to clean then you might even be put off using it as you might be reluctant to have to spend all of this time trying to scrub the juicer after use.
In our guide, we’ve looked at how easy the juicers are to clean along with some other vital specific functions and features like the type of juicer, power, speed, capacity and the dimensions, so you can work out the space it will take up in your kitchen. We’ve also evaluated the warranties so you can ensure you get a product with a bit of extra protection for you.
Our editor’s choice is the Mueller Austria SD80A, a smart and simple to use juicer that does so much to help the user in terms of keeping things clean.
This model is good for cleaning due to the fact that it has a removable, easy clean pulp and juice container. It also has a 3 inch chute for neatly feeding the contents you want to juice into the juicer.
There are two speeds, and both are pretty fast, you can turn your raw ingredients into a 16 oz juice portion in just 8 seconds, which is incredibly quick.
The noise level has been measured at under 60 dB, which means it is more minor inconvenience than annoying non-stop sound.
The safety locking arm and the anti-drip functionality are added bonuses, too. The stainless steel mesh around the juicer blade also makes it easier to clean, but is designed to help you to extract all the minerals and vitamins you need from the juicer.
What we like: This is an incredibly quick, and easy-to-use juicer, with convenience high on the agenda for the manufacturer.
What could be better? Some of the parts are not the most durable and long-lasting. This is protected by the long warranty but some parts could break or snap if you’re really unlucky. There really aren’t many faults we can find with this juicer.
Breville is a huge brand in the world of kitchens and appliances. The
Breville BJE200XL packs in some amazing features making it one of the best value options for those looking to buy a quick, easy to clean juicer.
Why is it easy to clean? One of the reasons is the fact that it comes with an included cleaning brush and a removable container for juice means you can clean it quickly and efficiently. This juicer operates at only one speed, 14000 RPM, this is fast enough for most but doesn’t make it the most versatile model of juicer.
The Breville even has parts that go in the dishwasher so you don’t have to do any of the cleaning yourself.
The 1.6 qt container for pulp means that these are all collected within the base of the unit and are easy to use or to dispose of.
What we like: This product has a lot of dishwasher safe parts and a cleaning brush so it’s unlikely to cause you any issues around getting it clean.
What could be improved? The fact that it only has one speed means it may not be as versatile and it is always pretty loud during use.
Hamilton Beach is another very popular brand among those who want to buy kitchen products, and they have a huge range of different appliances including this juicer.
This is a great budget pick. It has a three year limited warranty which further adds to the value. It’s one of the most generous brands in terms of the warranty.
Like many of the options there is a three inch chute which is designed for full pieces of fruit and vegetables to be put in with ease.
Cleaning is simple enough and all of the removable parts are easy to put in the dishwasher, and this is totally safe. The parts are BPA free. There’s also a cleaning brush to get to the more stubborn buildups and difficult areas.
There are two speeds to choose between based on their speeds. This model also has a sizable capacity, 20 oz can be made at once with ease. If you wish, you can upgrade it and get a 40 oz pitcher for juice.
What we like: The fact that this has a three year warranty is a big benefit. Many products only protect you for one or two years. It is also good value for the money you are parting with.
What could be better? This is much louder than a lot of the products on our list.
Is a cold press juicer easy to clean? Well, the AICOK AMR521 proves that this type of juicer doesn’t have to cause a lot of mess. This is the first cold press juicer on the list, and it utilizes a different method of extracting the juice when compared to the other juicers. That means it has just one speed at 80 RPM, which sounds less powerful than a lot of the centrifugal models, but it is not.
This has a pulp separation function so you can choose what you want to do with the pulp. It’s ETL certified.
This is also a relatively quiet option for an easy cleaning juicer, as it has a 60dB operation.
Like many of the options on our list of the easiest juicers to clean, this has parts that can go in the dishwasher so they are incredibly easy to get clean.
What we like: The function of this juicer avoids it overheating, which means that there is not any sort of tainted flavor from the heat of friction.
What are the flaws? The container that collects the juice can slip and slide around, which might lead to spillage.
Why is it special?
Dishwasher safe parts.
No tainting of flavors from the machine getting too hot.
The AMZCHEF ZM1501 is another easy to clean juicer with a masticating system so it doesn’t require high speeds to operate. In fact, we’ve named it the best masticating juicer on the list, and this is great for those who want to prioritize low noise and also prevent the loss of all those nutrients that are within the fruits, vegetables and other foods.
There is a safety lock design, and though the juice pours out into a jug rather than being contained, there is minimal splash and the jug stays in place nicely, so no slipping and sliding around like its competing options.
It has a two year limited warranty. The spiral design is very intelligent and manages to maximize the yield, producing a dry pulp in the process.
What we like: The clever masticating design is brilliant for the nutritional value and does a good job whilst staying really quiet. We can see why many people go for this easy to clean masticating juicer.
What is not ideal about it? The chute is a bit small, and when you are putting things into this juicer you have to chop them to a relatively small size before you use it, which can be annoying.
Why did it make our list?
Easy to clean.
Great for extracting nutrients from fruit and veg.
Though this is not the most advanced juicer on the list, we wanted to include a manual juicer as this perfectly suits a lot of peoples’ needs and reduces the requirements for any sort of electricity. Those looking for a quiet, easy to clean juicer should at least consider whether or not a manual model could be for them.
This is available in lots of colors and has a lifetime warranty. It’s extra-durable and would be extremely difficult to break even if you were to try.
Though a lot of manual juicers work well for lemons and oranges, this has a bit more of an advanced design that means you can use it with all sorts of fruits and vegetables. It has a five inch diameter cup, so you can put things like grapefruits in rather than having to stick to small oranges.
It’s incredibly simple to wipe clean after you have used it. Obviously there are good and bad things about having a juicer that is manual, but this is inevitable.
What we like: The fact that this is such a durable and easy-to-use model. You can quickly and easily make yourself a glass of juice on demand.
What could be better? Naturally, this is a manual option so making large quantities can be quite difficult.
Want a small juicer, easy to clean, with the capacity to make great juices out of greens. The The Original Healthy Juicer (Lexen GP27) is another manual option, this time with a masticating design.
The juicer has been designed specifically to handle greens and leaves, which some juicers really don’t make a good job of.
Though this has a manual design the clever suction base and masticating design are rated at 100lbs of force.
Let’s face it, the design is very cool, too, and this gives a quirky retro vibe to almost any kitchen.
This could well be the best juicer for those who are real health nuts and are looking to get a model that suits this. The juicer makes light work of vegetables and wheatgrass which can get clogged in other machines and be really tough to clean. It can also handle a lot of different fruit and veg.
What we like: The cold-press design does brilliantly when it comes to extracting the nutrients and also creating great juice from wheatgrass and other vegetables.
What cons did we manage to find? The warranty is not very generous, with just one year of protection, when some manual juicers offer lifetime protection.
What stands out?
Great for leaves and wheatgrass.
Easy to use and creates a lot of cold press force.
Things to Consider
The search for easy to clean juicer machines can be frustrating if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for. Our buying guide is designed to make this whole process much easier for you, and separate the easy to clean juicers that are a good choice from those which might be better for someone else (or not a good choice for anyone!)
A juicer is a relatively simple product in terms of how it works, so you would be amazed at how many of the products on the list are substandard. Cleaning is one of the vital considerations, and you might end up underusing your juicer if it doesn’t have the easiest design in terms of cleaning. All of the products on our list of easy to clean juicer reviews are great options when it comes to cleaning but the other features need to be considered, too. Make sure you fully understand all of the terms in our buying guide.
What makes a juicer easy to clean?
What are some of the features that make a juicer easy to clean? How do we separate easy to clean juicers from those that are a pain?
Dishwasher friendly components is one of the most vital considerations. Many of the very best easy to clean juicers have parts that can just be put in the dishwasher after use, which means that you don’t even have to do the cleaning yourself. Obviously, a lot of juicers have some electrical element which means they aren’t all suitable for putting in the dishwasher, but their jugs might be!
Other functions and features that can help with the ease of cleaning a juicer include whether or not they include a specific cleaning brush. Many of the biggest manufacturers provide a cleaning brush as this means that you can reach the difficult areas of the juicer. It’s amazing how much easier the clean up process can be if you just have the right tools, and brushes are a part of this.
Another aspect that should not be ignored when it comes to the ease of cleaning a juicer is whether or not the design is good at preventing spilling or drippage. If not, you will end up with a lot more to clean in the first place.
Features to consider while buying the best easy to clean juicer
What are the top features to consider when you need to buy an easy to clean juicer? Other than the obvious (how easy it is to clean) what are some other aspects you need to look into before you take the plunge and make a purchase? Below are the vital features to get your head around.
The main types of juicer are masticating and centrifugal.
Centrifugal juicers are called this because they use centrifugal force when flinging the food around within the juicer. They have a blade, and the force pushes the contents through tiny holes in a strainer, creating juice and leaving behind pulp. Centrifugal juicers are usually much quicker, but it depends what you put in. They also produce more waste.
Masticating juicers work a bit harder to physically squeeze and break down the juice, often through a spiral design of juicer. They can extract more from the original produce as a result, but might take a while, which can be frustrating for some people who want their juice as quickly as possible.
Because of the different designs of juicer, the power can be measured in different ways. For most of the centrifugal juicers it is measured in RPM, or revolutions per minute. Some of the juicers can achieve many thousand RPM, giving them the power to break down even solid and stubborn food.
Do you have a choice of speeds? Different speeds might be essential for other types of food, some will juice better slightly slower than others, so it is worth having the options for different speeds. The manual juicers on the list obviously do not provide this. The Mueller Austria SD80A is the perfect example of an easy to clean juicer that also has multiple speeds to choose between.
How much juice can you make at once? Most of these juicers can comfortably make enough for one serving, but if you want to make batch servings then you might need to think about the capacity of the juicer or the jug it comes with. Some models are around the 20 oz mark, which is plenty for most people. The Hamilton Beach 67601A can actually be expanded as you can get a larger, 40 oz pitcher for the juice.
The chute is where the actual fruit and vegetables get put into the juicer. The chute design means you can keep adding things while you are juicing in a safe way. However, some of the chutes are a little on the small side. If you get a small chute then you might end up needing to do loads of chopping before you use the juicer, this is far from ideal. A wider chute such as the Breville BJE200XL is great if you plan to put whole fruits in there and not have to do a lot of chopping.
Metal components within the best small juicers that are easy to clean are usually stainless steel. Safe and easy to use with even commercial juicers, and these can provide a long-lasting and durable design.
All plastics and other materials used need to be BPA free. The ultimate goal here is to create a juicer that is fantastic and does its job well, but also one that uses only safe materials. Which materials are used can also play a part in how easy it is to clean, so it is worth thinking about.
Dimensions and weight
Naturally, you need to think about the dimensions and weight of the juicer. If you need something that is large and can do a great job of creating big batches then it might be that it is unavoidable to get such a large juicer that takes up a lot of space in your kitchen. However, you should check the dimensions before you buy. Ensure you have the counter space and storage space for a juicer. Luckily, there are some small and compact options out there for people who might be struggling with space, but some of these do tend to be far from the easiest to clean.
With virtually any kitchen appliance or electrical product, you expect to get a warranty of some description. In the case of juicers, the warranties can vary hugely.
We really think you should get at least 12 months of protection.
In fact, all of the products on our list of easy to clean juicers come with at least a year of warranty.
In the case of one of the manual options, the Zulay Professional Citrus Juicer, you can even enjoy the peace of mind of a lifetime warranty. It’s incredibly rugged in its design so you shouldn’t need to claim.
A two to three year warranty is pretty standard for electric juicers. We don’t recommend going for any product that doesn’t have this as it doesn’t show a lot of confidence on the part of the manufacturer.
Many manufacturers try to include some extra features to set them apart from the competition. A safety lock is one feature that is always nice to see as it can provide that extra level of protection.
Some of the other extra features we have seen include the cleaning brushes that can help you to reach tough areas, and even recipe cards to give you some great suggestions for new types of juice you can try.
A budget of $100-$200 is more than enough to get one of the very best easy clean juicers. Some of the larger models are on the upper end of this budget. There are some juicers out there for under $50, but these tend to be less than ideal. They might be small or just not have the same ease of cleaning that you might be expecting.
This is up for some debate. It really depends on both the juicer you pick and the dishwasher itself. If you try to clean the pitcher or dishwasher-friendly parts of your juicer in a dishwasher and find that not all of the leftover residue is being cleaned away, you can either pre-rinse, or you might prefer to hand wash. Also, if you have a delicate juicer pitcher, it might get more pressure put on in a dishwasher, which means it could break.
There are definitely some precautions to take when it is time to clean your juicer. Always read the manual and refer to a manufacturer’s instructions when you are cleaning. Never try to clean the juicer while the power is on, and you should also unplug it for the extra level of safety. Remember that they might have sharp blades, so you need to use appropriate tools. Only put parts in the dishwasher if you are specifically told you can do so.
Inevitably, juicers do make some noise. Some of the products on our list of easy to clean juicers are under 60 dB which is not particularly loud at all. Often, the masticating juicers on the market are a lot less loud than the centrifugal options. The type of juicer definitely plays a part. If you are worried about the noise, be on the lookout for a decibel rating.
The Mueller Austria SD80A is our editor’s choice and we’ve given it a rating of 9.9. As well as being easy to clean it is relatively quiet at under 60dB in noise. It also has a huge amount of power and different speed options.
The best value pick is the Breville BJE200XL. Most people know and love the kitchen brand Breville. This has the capacity to make really huge volumes of juice, great for group servings. It’s also simple to clean, as some parts can go in the dishwasher. It also has a rating of 9.8/10 on our list of the best easy to clean juicer options.
The budget pick on our list is the Hamilton Beach 67601A, it has an expandable capacity because you can buy larger pitchers, and comes with a generous warranty, not forgetting the fact that it is really easy to clean, all at a price that won’t break the bank. We’ve rated this model 9.7/10.
